The Truth About Celebrity Botox Fans
The Truth About Celebrity Botox Fans

When we see celebrities on TV and in magazines, how is it that they always manage to look perfect? While I look at myself in the mirror and am faced with dark circles under my eyes, crows’ feet forming and the occasional spot, these stars always look picture-perfect and seem to have flawless skin without a single mark or blemish.

Obviously skilled makeup artists who spend their lives ensuring the world’s famous faces look impeccable are an important part of the getting-ready process for celebs, but there’s something else that’s giving them a helping hand… and that’s Botox.

A few years ago there was something of a stigma surrounding Botox and it was a bit of a taboo. Lots of celebs had it done, but most of them weren’t keen to talk about it.

Skip forward a few years to 2013 and suddenly we’re living in an age where Botox is just as accepted as getting a manicure or having highlights put in your hair. Nowadays, celebrities everywhere are admitting to having the injectable fillers to keep lines and wrinkles at bay and ensure they retain their youthful appearance for as long as possible.

So, which stars are fans of Botox and are there any surprises in there you weren’t expecting?

Simon Cowell

There’s no way you could miss the fact Simon Cowell has Botox (and many other cosmetic procedures to boot). Since he first burst on to our TV screens in 2001 as a judge on the first series of Pop Idol he’s barely aged a day and still has a youthful-looking face considering he’s 53.

Plus, Simon is happy for everyone to know he has Botox, as he once said: “Botox to me is no more unusual than toothpaste. It simply works. You do it twice a year. Who cares…”

Jennifer Aniston

Now here’s another star who never seems to age. She’s still got the same glossy hair, perfect figure and gorgeous face as she did when she first started playing Rachel Green in Friends. She admitted to InStyle magazine that although she doesn’t have as many injections as people think, she has tried the treatment.

Janice Dickinson

One person who is far more open about the reliance she has on Botox to keep her looking young and youthful is Janice Dickinson. While many people may only be trying Botox for the first time now it has gained some popularity, she has been an advocate of the treatment since day one, as she told People magazine back in 2004.

“I was the first in line. If it meant keeping me young, I was the first to sign up. I live for Botox,” former model Janice said. And, seeing as she’s almost 60, it seems to be doing a pretty good job of keeping lines and wrinkles at bay.

Jenny McCarthy

Model and actress Jenny McCarthy is a star who has confessed that she believes in Botox in moderation. She once told People magazine that she has Botox injections every two months to ensure she stays looking younger than her 40 years.

“My tricks are, I get Botox in my forehead – I just have my doctor do a little shot there. I believe in just a little bit. It allows you to keep that mobility in your face. It’s a great little secret,” Jenny said.

Kim Kardashian

She’s lived the majority of her life in front of the cameras so it should come as no surprise that Kim Kardashian had no qualms about getting Botox injections during an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

The Contrary Nature Of Cats

I have had one or more cats in my household for over 40 years and I have loved them all dearly with the possible exception of Paolo, one of my current moggies who is basically antisocial bordering on unpleasant! Cats can be loveable, cuddly, playful, fascinating and just plain gorgeous but why the hell do they have to be so contrary? Continue reading “The Contrary Nature Of Cats” »
